Chief Executive Officer – Africa

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead Momentum Africa’s operations across multiple African markets. Reporting to the Group Executive Leadership, the CEO will drive sustainable growth, ensure product‑market fit and embed disciplined value creation throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long‑term strategy for Momentum Africa in alignment with Group and regional priorities.
• Integrate product, distribution, operations, technology and risk functions into a coherent value chain.
• Oversee the delivery of scalable operating models, fit‑for‑purpose systems and operational resilience across markets.
• Lead transformation programmes, market expansions and strategic initiatives with measurable financial, operational and people outcomes.
• Ensure life‑insurance products are tailored to each country, client‑relevant and competitively positioned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related field (essential).
• Post‑graduate qualification in Strategy, Leadership or a related discipline (essential).
• Minimum 8 years of executive‑level management experience.
• 5–8 years experience in the insurance and/or finance industry (desirable).
• Proven ability to build leadership capability and succession strength.
