Chef de Partie – Kitchen Team Member

About the role

Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will manage an assigned kitchen section, prepare high‑quality dishes, uphold food hygiene standards, and support the Sous Chef in delivering an exceptional dining experience for members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and production of meals according to recipe cards and standards.
• Ensure correct portion sizes, garnishes and presentation of all dishes.
• Monitor section stock levels and communicate requirements to the Sous Chef.
• Receive, store and check food deliveries, maintaining accurate order documentation.
• Participate in daily, monthly and stock‑taking processes, reporting variances.
• Minimise food waste and control consumable costs.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Keep fridges, freezers and storage areas clean, organised and properly labelled, following LIFO and date‑stamping procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) / NQF Level 4 and a minimum 1‑year Diploma in Culinary Skills or Cookery.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie in a golf club, clubhouse or restaurant environment (or 3 years in a related F&B management role).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
