Casual Gift Wrapper - Roodepoort

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring casual gift wrappers for its retail operations in the Johannesburg South area, based in the Westrand area of Roodepoort. The role is a contract position with stipend-based pay, and candidates must be South African citizens who pass the employer's criminal and credit screening.

Key responsibilities

• Wrap and decorate customers' purchases after payment, using paper, ribbons, bows and tape to make neat, presentable packages.
• Follow the employer's wrapping guidelines so that each package meets the required presentation standards.
• Assist customers in choosing suitable wrapping materials and answer questions about the service.
• Remove price tags where required and include gift receipts in the wrapping.
• Store completed packages in the designated holding area and keep the workspace organised.
• Maintain a professional appearance, wearing the correct uniform and name badge.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviour involving staff or customers to management.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the employer.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification (Matric or Senior Certificate).
• Entry-level position; no minimum years of experience stated.
• South African citizenship and meeting the criminal and credit screening requirements.

Required skills

• Attention to detail, especially in presentation and organisation.
• Basic customer service, including greeting customers courteously and listening to their preferences.
