Candidate Architect – 2027 Intake (First Year Out)

About the role

SAOTA is seeking enthusiastic first‑year‑out architects to join its design team. This full‑time position offers extensive training, mentorship and exposure to diverse architectural projects across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own specific aspects of project design and development.
• Liaise with external consultants, contractors, architects of record and clients.
• Stay updated on the latest architecture and design trends and technology.
• Provide full architectural services, including presentation and contractual documentation.
• Interpret design briefs and produce all related documentation (drawings, 3D models, images, etc.).
• Seek feedback from senior staff and act on technical advice.
• Support production and project delivery while adhering to SAOTA standards.

Required profile

• MArch or MTech in Architecture (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Ability to formulate and present design decisions.
• High‑level thinking and accurate interpretation of instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, deadline‑driven and methodical.
• Capability to manage confidential information and work under pressure.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and willing to work additional hours when needed.
