Business Development Representative – Payment Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a senior Business Development Representative to join a fast‑growing global FinTech company. Based in Stellenbosch, you will focus on acquiring new merchants and supporting the international sales team by prospecting, qualifying leads and nurturing enterprise relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Research target accounts, merchants and decision‑makers to uncover new business opportunities.
• Generate and qualify leads through outbound phone calls, email, LinkedIn and other channels.
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective merchants and business clients.
• Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings and sales conversations for senior sales stakeholders.
• Engage prospects to understand their payment challenges and operational requirements.
• Support Business Development Managers throughout the sales cycle, including presentations, proposals, negotiations and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, update opportunity stages and track all sales activities.
• Monitor pipeline performance and provide regular reporting on prospect engagement.
• Represent the company at international fintech conferences, trade shows and networking events.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling FinTech, payment, merchant services or related B2B solutions.
• Strong track record in outbound prospecting, lead generation and enterprise relationship building.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage senior decision‑makers.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international environment.
