Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth in the mining and industrial markets by creating new opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and delivering technical solutions that meet market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, approach and develop new customers, projects and revenue opportunities in hazardous and industrial sectors.
• Conduct regular visits to mines, contractors, consultants and end‑users to understand operational challenges.
• Prepare and deliver professional product presentations, proposals and commercial discussions.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline with values, probabilities and expected closing dates.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and pricing pressures.
• Represent the company at customer sites, industry events and exhibitions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to ensure opportunities are realistic and profitable.
• Work in compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of successful technical and field sales experience in mining, industrial or related markets.
• Proven track record of securing new customers, projects or revenue.
• Strong knowledge of the South African mining industry, including coal and hard‑rock sectors.
• Established network within mining, engineering, contracting or consulting circles.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
