Business Analyst

About the role

A global investment advisory firm focused on long-term value creation is hiring a Business Analyst in Cape Town, advertised by recruiter Parvana. The role is hybrid, with the option to work in the office daily or remotely. The client is large, offers strong career development and invests heavily in employee wellness and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Identify business problems, challenge proposed solutions and define clear, measurable outcomes before agreement.
• Assess options, trade-offs, risks and value together with technology and business stakeholders.
• Elicit, document and validate requirements, acting as the single point of truth for the project.
• Prepare process flows, user stories and test scripts, manage delivery milestones and escalate blockers.
• Assist with data mapping and validation, and share progress through reports and dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Excel).
• Manage Agile artifacts (e.g. JIRA), keep stakeholders informed and improve team tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Experience across the full delivery lifecycle, preferably on complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Ability to articulate own contributions and run workstreams with minimal oversight.
• Track record of engaging senior stakeholders, with strong problem-solving and documentation discipline.
• Clear communicator, able to present findings and give constructive challenges.
• Prior experience in financial services, investment operations, consulting or credit investment processes is required.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and familiarity with analytical tools (SQL, Power BI)
• Data integration (APIs, ETL), workflow/CRM platforms and Agile/Scrum delivery models
