Bookkeeper – QSR/Fast Food – Newlands East, Durban

About the role

Our reputable quick‑service restaurant (QSR) client in Newlands East, Durban is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join the Finance team at their head office. You will support the full accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance and timely information for operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, collate and interpret financial reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, including fixed‑asset registers.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform inventory valuations and verify stock counts.
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance.
• Assist with audit preparation and support internal controls.
• Contribute to budget preparation, variance analysis and financial statement preparation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in bookkeeping, junior accounting or similar role.
• Experience with Sage 50, Sage 200 or comparable accounting software (minimum 3 years).
• Previous experience in FMCG, fast‑food or retail environments is advantageous.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own vehicle are a plus.
