Banqueting Manager – Hospitality & Events

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is seeking an experienced Banqueting Manager to lead the banqueting operation at a premier hospitality and conference destination in Cape Town. The role involves overseeing conferences, weddings, gala dinners and private functions, ensuring seamless delivery from planning to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day banqueting operations across a variety of events and functions.
• Lead, coach and develop the banqueting team to deliver exceptional service.
• Prepare and present event venues to the highest standard.
• Collaborate with Sales, Events, Kitchen and Operations teams for seamless execution.
• Oversee staffing, rosters, productivity and labour costs.
• Maintain guest relations and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Monitor stock, equipment and operating expenses.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and company standards.
• Assist with budgeting, reporting and continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Banqueting Manager in a hotel, conference centre or large‑scale hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Proven capability to manage high‑volume conferences and events.
• Financial awareness with experience managing costs and departmental budgets.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
