Backend Developer (Golang/Java) – Fintech, Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our growing technology team in Cape Town. The role focuses on building scalable, secure backend services for fintech and payment platforms, working closely with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services.
• Create and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Integrate with payment gateways, banking platforms, and third‑party providers.
• Ensure system performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Document APIs, services, and integration processes.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Golang or Java.
• Proven ability to build RESTful APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Git.
