B2B IT Sales Consultant

About the role

A market-leading distributor of IT hardware and technology supplies is looking for a B2B IT Sales Consultant in Johannesburg. The role is full-time and combines about 80% in-office pipeline work with 20% client visits on the road, servicing and growing an established portfolio of B2B accounts, resellers and service providers. The employer wants a proactive "Sales Maker" who drives daily call activity, fast quotes, active follow-ups and account growth.

Key responsibilities

• Meet and exceed daily outbound call targets, following up on quotes, checking stock availability and re-engaging dormant accounts
• Respond quickly to sales requests, prepare quotes, negotiate terms and convert open opportunities into closed orders
• Visit existing customers about 20% of the time to maintain relationships, understand parts requirements and cross-sell product ranges
• Build long-term relationships with corporate clients, resellers and service providers
• Generate quotes, process sales orders and issue invoices using SAP, and log all touchpoints and pipeline activity in the CRM
• Consistently hit and exceed activity targets and monthly sales and gross margin targets

Required profile

• 2 to 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT sales consulting, account management or technical sales support in the IT hardware or technology supply sector
• Proactive, high-energy mindset comfortable with high call volumes and persistent follow-ups
• Dedicated background in IT hardware, distribution or technology supply
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport for client visits in Gauteng

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and ERP systems; SAP experience is a major advantage
