AWS Data Engineer (Intermediate/Senior)

About the role

Amidel is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines for leading financial institutions. The role involves building scalable solutions on AWS using Python or C# and ensuring data quality and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop data models and pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources into AWS S3, RDS, Redshift, or Aurora.
• Lead the delivery of large‑scale, critical data solutions, including batch, streaming, and event‑driven architectures.
• Implement ETL processes using AWS Glue Jobs with PySpark or Spark, and automate workflows with AWS Lambda.
• Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures, and optimize cloud workloads for cost and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and support data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Python or C# development experience and 3 years of AWS data engineering.
• Hold AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate certification (additional AWS certifications a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Required skills

• AWS Glue (PySpark or Spark) and AWS Lambda.
• Strong SQL and experience with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL.
• Proficiency in Python or C# programming, including object‑oriented principles.
• Familiarity with AWS services: S3, RDS, Redshift, Aurora, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, IAM.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash).
