Auxiliary Nurse – AICU in Blaauwberg Hospital

About the role
The Auxiliary Nurse will deliver basic nursing care to patients in the AICU at Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, the role focuses on safe, compassionate care, accurate documentation and the efficient use of ward resources.
Key responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care as delegated by a registered nurse, following prescribed care plans.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, MEWS and AVPU scores.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to infection‑prevention and waste‑management policies.
- Manage ward stock, report equipment issues and maintain a safe working environment.
- Promote patient mobility, comfort and prevent complications related to immobility.
Required profile
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Auxiliary Nurse with a current practising licence.
- Compliance with the SANC code of conduct and relevant health‑care legislation.
- Relevant experience in nursing or a related health‑care setting is preferred.
