Assistant Store Manager – Olievenhoutbosch

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, ensuring service excellence and achieving financial targets at our Clicks store in Olievenhoutbosch.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and maximise sales through promotional activities, cross‑selling, up‑selling and superior customer service.
• Execute operational activities including expense control, stock management, shrinkage reduction, housekeeping and administration.
• Implement in‑store visual merchandising to meet brand presentation standards.
• Motivate and direct staff, manage schedules and ensure appropriate staffing in line with labour policy.
• Lead customer service initiatives to enhance experience, loyalty and club card participation.
• Handle administrative duties such as weekly time‑and‑attendance records and employee documentation for HR.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with at least 50 % in Maths and English.
• Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (or degree) for external applicants.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant store management role within retail/FMCG or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Experience in financial management, including budgets, profit & loss statements and financial ratios.

Required skills

• Understanding of financial management principles and budgeting.
• Knowledge of retail merchandising, promotions and stock management.
• Familiarity with labour legislation and industrial relations practices.
• Competency‑based interviewing techniques.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications.
