Assistant Meetings & Events Manager

About the role

Radisson Hotel Group is hiring an Assistant Meetings & Events Manager for its Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre, OR Tambo Johannesburg. The role brings a results-driven mindset and a passion for creating memorable client experiences, working alongside the Meetings & Events team and supporting the Head of Department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Meetings & Events team members and support the Head of Department with training plans, coaching and mentoring.
• Receive meetings and events enquiries and related room reservations, maximising revenue and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain regular, accurate and timely communication with other departments on the meetings and events function.
• Support the Sales teams in generating leads and referring business by analysing current and denied business and spotting new opportunities.
• Promote a proactive sales culture so that budgeted revenues are achieved.
• Follow up with guests to measure satisfaction and support strategies that improve the guest experience.

Required profile

• A proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating excellent standards and team member management.
• Commercial awareness and a driven, ambitious attitude.
• Clear thinking, excellent communication and attention to detail.
