Assistant Lodge Manager – Luxury Safari Lodge

About the role

Hopewell Private Game Reserve is seeking a motivated Assistant Lodge Manager to support daily operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a luxury safari setting. Reporting to the Lodge Manager, you will help ensure smooth coordination across all departments while upholding high hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing all guest‑facing activities, from check‑in to departures, ensuring service excellence.
• Oversee day‑to‑day lodge operations in the Lodge Manager’s absence, coordinating housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance and guiding teams.
• Monitor lodge presentation, cleanliness, maintenance and compliance with SOPs.
• Handle guest requests, complaints and special arrangements professionally.
• Support the creation of memorable safari experiences and gather guest feedback.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and company standards are met.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality or lodge operations, preferably in a safari or luxury environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and guest‑relations abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays in a remote setting.
• Professional, detail‑oriented, calm under pressure and a team player.
• Passion for wildlife, conservation and high‑end hospitality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using reservation/PMS systems such as Semper, NightsBridge or Opera PMS.
