Assistant Housekeeper – Luxury Wine Estate

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Housekeeper to support the Executive Housekeeper at a luxury wine estate in Cape Town. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across guest rooms, villas, and public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper with daily operations and supervise housekeeping staff.
• Inspect guest rooms, suites, villas, public areas and staff facilities to ensure exceptional cleanliness.
• Prepare rooms according to luxury hospitality standards and manage linen, amenities and cleaning equipment.
• Monitor supplies, conduct stocktakes and report maintenance issues.
• Coordinate with Reception, Maintenance, Laundry and Food & Beverage teams.
• Maintain accurate housekeeping records and ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene policies.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
• Support recruitment, training and performance management of housekeeping staff.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) required; hospitality certificate or diploma advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years housekeeping experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a 4‑star or 5‑star hotel, lodge or luxury wine estate.
• Strong leadership, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication in English; Afrikaans a plus.
• Flexible to work weekends, public holidays and shifts.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport advantageous.
