Airfreight Manager / Sales Representative

About the role

The Airfreight Manager / Sales Representative will oversee airfreight operations while driving client acquisition and retention across South African and international markets. This dual‑focus role ensures safe, efficient transport of goods and delivers tailored airfreight solutions to meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution and monitoring of all airfreight activities.
• Ensure goods are moved safely and efficiently, complying with industry regulations.
• Manage budgets, track costs and guarantee profitability, including accurate invoicing and price verification with airlines and agents.
• Liaise with transport partners, subcontractors, airlines and customers for seamless operations.
• Develop operational strategies based on financial budgets and market trends.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of airfreight professionals.
• Create and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed targets.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing customized solutions.
• Identify new business opportunities through market research.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with clients and suppliers.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of airfreight logistics, customs regulations and international shipping procedures.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in freight forwarding and supply‑chain management.
• Proven sales experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to build and sustain client relationships.
