Procurement Manager - Logistics

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results‑driven National Procurement Manager to establish and lead the procurement function across the business. This strategic leadership position focuses on developing procurement governance, driving cost optimisation, strengthening supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategy, policies and governance frameworks aligned with the company’s Delegation of Authority.
• Own the purchase order system, design workflows, maintain controls and ensure all spend is authorised.
• Lead strategic sourcing, manage RFQs/RFPs, conduct tender evaluations and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, maintain a central register and monitor renewals, SLAs and insurance compliance.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives, track realised savings and benchmark pricing against market conditions.
• Oversee supplier relationship management, conduct due‑diligence, maintain scorecards and ensure BBBEE and tax compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, commerce or a related field; professional qualifications (CIPS, CSCP) are advantageous.
• 7–8 years of strategic sourcing and corporate procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior procurement management role.
• Proven track record of implementing ERP procurement systems and leading procurement transformation projects.
• Experience managing high‑value procurement portfolios, contracts and supplier performance programmes.
