About the role
The University is seeking a proactive Administrative Secretary to support the Director of Campus Operations at the George campus. This role ensures smooth office functioning and provides comprehensive administrative assistance across multiple service areas.
Key responsibilities
- Manage general office administration and act as the meeting officer.
- Handle electronic communications, diary management and coordination of catering, cleaning, horticulture, security, maintenance, disaster, primate and shuttle services.
- Coordinate annual budget spending, process finance web claims and monitor service delivery.
- Plan and execute events, including catering arrangements.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent; secretarial or administrative tertiary qualification.
- 2‑5 years of relevant administrative experience.
- Driver’s licence and fluency in at least two official languages.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and with high attention to detail.
Required skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with a financial system (Finance Web).
