Accountant – Finance Role in Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our fast‑paced finance team in Wadeville, Germiston. This position is ideal for a candidate who has completed SAICA or SAIPA articles and wants to deepen technical accounting expertise while gaining commercial exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate financial transactions and general ledger records.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reports.
• Support statutory and regulatory submissions, including VAT and PAYE.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Apply accounting standards and IFRS principles in daily operations.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance across financial processes and reporting.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance and accounting duties as required.

Required profile

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• BCom Accounting or related qualification.
• 1–2 years post‑articles experience (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel.
• Accounting software such as Sage, Pastel or Xero.
• Knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards.
