Accountant – Finance Department

About the role

The ATKV is a dynamic, fast‑growing Afrikaans cultural organisation seeking a professional, analytical and results‑driven accountant to join its finance department at the head office in Randburg.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end and year‑end closings, including journal entries, provisions, amortisation and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage creditors, debtors and cash, including bank reconciliations, payment reviews and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, calculate depreciation and coordinate periodic asset counts.
• Support tax compliance, statutory reporting and submission of Statistics South Africa returns.
• Prepare annual financial statements, support the external audit process and assist with budgeting and financial projections.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and internal controls, identifying and mitigating financial risks.

Required profile

• BCom degree in accounting and SAIPA qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of IFRS for SMEs.
• Proficiency in Afrikaans and English.
