Tax Manager (Corporate & International Tax)

About the role

Our client, a specialised tax and financial advisory practice in the East Rand, is looking for a technically strong Tax Manager. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing high‑level advisory and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of corporate entities, trusts, estates and multinational structures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review corporate, trust and individual income tax returns.
• Prepare and review provisional tax calculations and tax reconciliations.
• Advise clients on restructures, rollover relief and tax‑efficient structuring.
• Assist with cessation of South African tax residency and cross‑border tax implications.
• Draft technical tax opinions, memoranda, objections and appeals.
• Provide guidance on withholding taxes, double tax agreements and international tax matters.
• Oversee VAT compliance reviews and voluntary disclosure applications.
• Liaise directly with SARS on submissions, disputes and correspondence.
• Maintain compliance deadlines and mentor junior tax professionals.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or BCom Taxation (essential).
• HDip Tax or postgraduate tax qualification (advantageous).
• SAIT membership and TP(SA) designation (preferred).
• 3–5 years post‑articles experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act and Tax Administration Act.
• Experience with SARS eFiling, objections, appeals and correspondence.
• Exposure to cross‑border taxation, trusts and estate‑related tax matters (advantageous).
• Excellent communication and technical drafting abilities.
