Machine Operator

About the role

The Machine Operator will work on production lines to ensure efficient, safe, and high‑quality output of packaged goods. This position requires a mechanically‑oriented mindset, a sense of urgency, and a willingness to work additional hours when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machines according to Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines.
• Adjust machine settings and load product programs to meet production requirements.
• Maintain a continuous supply of packaging material for quick change‑overs.
• Change machine parts and perform minor adjustments for different products.
• Monitor seal integrity, film quality, and overall machine performance.
• Complete quality and production control forms and report downtime, waste, and stoppages.
• Keep machines and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Liaise with Quality and Maintenance departments on issues.
• Identify and raise potential safety risks and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) and medically fit.
• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG, food processing, or packaging.
• Willingness to work additional hours as required.
• Commitment to adhere to company policies, procedures, and food‑safety standards.
