Utilities Artisan

About the role

The Utilities Artisan provides engineering support to the maintenance function, ensuring plant, machines and equipment are repaired, replaced or manufactured to keep production running smoothly. This role is integral to maintaining brewery utilities such as boilers, compressors and effluent systems.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and legislation.
• Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation or systems.
• Plan, prepare and execute repair or maintenance jobs.
• Operate workshop equipment and start/stop utilities equipment.
• Maintain, repair and improve equipment, optimizing plant performance.
• Complete work orders, manage backlog and ensure customer satisfaction without rework.
• Conduct safety inspections, adhere to PPE policies and follow LOTO and PTW requirements.

Required profile

• National Diploma (N6) or equivalent in Mechanical Trade.
• Mechanical Fitter, Turner or Millwright qualification.
• At least two years of post‑trade experience (advantageous).
• Knowledge of brewery utilities such as boilers, compressors and effluent plants (advantageous).
• Contractor management and problem‑solving abilities (e.g., 5‑Why, AB reports, CR 360).
