Process Shift Artisan – Engineering Maintenance

About the role

The Process Shift Artisan is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and safety requirements within the Engineering Department, while actively managing breakdowns and maintenance tasks on the production line during shift hours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct line walk‑abouts each shift, monitor downtime and verify PIMS and POMS data for every machine.
• Take first‑line ownership of all breakdowns related to the artisan’s trade, remaining on site until the issue is resolved.
• Perform audits of the assigned area and report findings in Level 2 morning meetings.
• Enter and track breakdown notifications (EWO/ZBD) in SHOPWARE, adhering to the two‑minute trigger rule.
• Assist other lines with trade‑specific breakdowns and support standby personnel on call‑outs.
• Execute isolation, lock‑out, and autonomous maintenance procedures before and during maintenance work.
• Support preventive (PM) and corrective (CM) work orders, maintenance package reviews, and cleaning schedules.
• Participate in shutdown maintenance, new product development (NPD) projects, and performance acceptance testing (PAT).
• Coach operators on new technology introductions and ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or process environment, preferably within food or industrial production.
• Ability to work autonomously on shift, maintain detailed records and follow strict safety protocols.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on first‑level troubleshooting.
• Willingness to collaborate with maintenance specialists and support cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PIMS and POMS systems.
• Experience using SHOPWARE for breakdown notifications.
• Knowledge of EWO/ZBD reporting procedures.
• Familiarity with MAS, PM and CM work order execution.
• Understanding of PAT and NPD processes.
