Utilities Operator – Water Treatment & Cooling Systems

About the role

The Utilities Operator is responsible for maintaining optimal water supply and cleanliness to support uninterrupted manufacturing processes. This position oversees water treatment, cooling systems, boilers and related utility processes, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete required documentation in the Quality Management System.
• Perform Level 1 autonomous maintenance, basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance according to schedule.
• Execute cleaning‑in‑place (CIP) for water treatment equipment, monitor chemical usage and report results.
• Manage waste disposal in line with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Diagnose faults, conduct root‑cause analysis (5 Whys) and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Monitor water volume consumption and ensure efficient operation of water, cooling and boiler systems.

Required profile

• Experience operating water treatment plants, cooling towers or boiler systems.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Proficiency in basic maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of utility equipment.
• Strong analytical mindset for fault diagnosis and root‑cause analysis.
