About the role
The Guest Relations Officer will be the face of a prestigious private game reserve, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm, seamless and memorable stay. This role combines front‑office duties with close collaboration with housekeeping, restaurant and senior management to uphold the lodge’s 5‑star standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Lodge Manager in daily operations and support the assistant where required.
- Conduct housekeeping checks to meet established standards.
- Supervise restaurant service before and during meals, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Verify meal quality before dishes leave the kitchen.
- Handle guest check‑ins and check‑outs, responding promptly to guest requests.
- Coordinate additional services and supplies requested by guests.
- Report anomalies, variances and improvement ideas to senior management.
- Assist with stock counts and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
Required profile
- Hotel Management Diploma/Certificate or equivalent.
- 1–2 years experience in front‑of‑house or a similar role at a 5‑star lodge.
- Fluent, presentable English communication.
- Customer‑focused attitude with good common sense.
- Driver’s licence preferred.
Required skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Lightspeed POS system.
- Experience using Sage Evolution accounting software.
- Knowledge of Protel property management system.
