About the role
Our client, a well‑established restaurant in Cape Town, is seeking a hands‑on Restaurant Manager to lead a dynamic floor team. You will ensure smooth daily operations, maintain high service standards and drive customer satisfaction in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule staff shifts, ensure adequate coverage and lead team meetings.
- Plan operations using forecasts, coordinate stock orders and oversee maintenance.
- Maintain product presentation, service quality, hygiene, food safety and SHEQ compliance.
- Manage customer feedback, resolve complaints and uphold service standards.
- Analyse sales, stock usage, wastage and costs; control food and labour expenses.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR and suppliers; handle budgeting and financial reporting.
- Supervise, motivate and train staff; conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes and ensure accurate records.
Required profile
- Matric or equivalent qualification; hospitality or restaurant management qualifications advantageous.
- 3‑5 years of management or supervisory experience in the food service industry.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse, customer‑facing team.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
