Ground Penetrating Radar Operator (MR)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified MR Operator to safely operate and manage Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment in a mining environment. The role involves conducting underground scans, collecting and recording data, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, position and dismantle GPR system components for each scanning operation.
• Operate the GPR, initiate scans, monitor performance and collect accurate data.
• Direct GPR attendants in the use of electronic equipment and ensure proper system adjustments.
• Maintain compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and internal safety, health, environment and quality procedures.
• Detect and troubleshoot system errors or malfunctions, and coordinate with the SCO or Rock Engineering team for resolution.
• Follow work orders, GPR schedules and reporting procedures, and document all findings and anomalies.

• Willingness to perform regular underground visits and work onsite.
