Financial Manager

About the role

The Financial Manager will own the end‑to‑end finance function, ensuring that bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll, statutory compliance and resident billing are accurate, current and audit‑ready. This role supports leadership by providing reliable financial data for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate books, process cashbooks, journals and supplier invoices, and ensure a clean audit trail.
• Verify supplier invoices, load payment batches onto the banking platform and manage the supplier master file, while never authorising payments.
• Bill residents monthly, manage charge‑out accounts, reconcile accrued revenue and handle debtor collections with sensitivity.
• Perform daily/weekly bank and control‑account reconciliations, investigating and clearing reconciling items promptly.
• Process monthly payroll, manage PAYE, UIF, SDL, submit EMP201, reconcile EMP501 and administer provident‑fund contributions.
• Handle SARS eFiling for VAT, PAYE and related returns, meet statutory deadlines and maintain NPO compliance records.
• Lead month‑end close activities and prepare management accounts for leadership review.

Required profile

• Proven experience in full‑cycle finance within a nonprofit or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean audit trail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet statutory deadlines.
