Environmental Test Engineer – Vibration

About the role

The Environmental Test Engineer – Vibration will lead the engineering oversight of a Vibration Test Facility (VTF) used for qualifying satellite components and systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role ensures safe, accurate testing in line with industry and international space standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee VTF systems and ensure compliance with best practices, industry standards, and international space standards.
• Conduct functional and physical audits of test equipment and support commissioning activities (FATs & SATs).
• Create and maintain detailed asset registers, supervise contractors, and manage commissioning.
• Develop and control vibration test procedures, work instructions, test profiles, documentation, and data packs for clients.
• Maintain facility readiness, workflow processes, maintenance plans, statutory documentation, and equipment performance monitoring.
• Perform vibration testing, analyse data, interpret results, and produce test reports.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide engineering diagnostics.
• Support competency development and training of technical personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of experience with vibration systems, spacecraft/component testing, or high‑tech environmental testing.
• Strong knowledge of vibration test principles, dynamic forces, and environmental qualification standards (ECSS, NASA GEVS).
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
