Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Accountant to join a structured manufacturing and operational environment in Johannesburg. The role offers the chance to work across financial administration and reporting, supporting month‑end processes and strengthening controls.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Execute daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
• Assist with month‑end reporting, journal entries and preparation of management accounts.
• Prepare VAT calculations, submissions and supporting audit documentation.
• Support external audit processes and statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounts payable processes and payment preparations.
• Contribute to internal controls, process improvements and financial compliance.
• Ensure ERP system integrity and financial data accuracy.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or related qualification; CA(SA) advantageous.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Exposure to foreign currency transactions is a plus.
• Experience with general ledger and trial balance maintenance.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with SAGE / Pastel Evolution.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
