About the role

Think finance is all spreadsheets and no spotlight? Think again. Our client, a major entertainment group based in Durban, is seeking an Accountant with strong technical accounting skills, commercial thinking and a hands‑on approach.

Key responsibilities

Manage the full accounting function.
Oversee creditors and key reconciliations.
Manage VAT and ensure tax and accounting compliance.
Drive cost control and identify profit‑improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with company and gaming board policies.
Prepare financial reports and support month‑end processes.
Support internal and external audit processes and provide financial insight to operational teams.

Required profile

CA(SA) qualification.
At least 1 year post‑articles experience.
Analytical, commercially minded and detail‑focused.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.

Required skills

Strong VAT, tax and accounting knowledge.
Creditors management experience.
Commercial and operational finance exposure.
Experience with audits and financial reporting.
Understanding of accounting controls and compliance.
