About the role
Think finance is all spreadsheets and no spotlight? Think again. Our client, a major entertainment group based in Durban, is seeking an Accountant with strong technical accounting skills, commercial thinking and a hands‑on approach.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting function.
- Oversee creditors and key reconciliations.
- Manage VAT and ensure tax and accounting compliance.
- Drive cost control and identify profit‑improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company and gaming board policies.
- Prepare financial reports and support month‑end processes.
- Support internal and external audit processes and provide financial insight to operational teams.
Required profile
- CA(SA) qualification.
- At least 1 year post‑articles experience.
- Analytical, commercially minded and detail‑focused.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
Required skills
- Strong VAT, tax and accounting knowledge.
- Creditors management experience.
- Commercial and operational finance exposure.
- Experience with audits and financial reporting.
- Understanding of accounting controls and compliance.
