Category Manager – Packaging

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Category Packaging Buyer to join Lactalis SA’s procurement team. The role focuses on developing and executing category strategies for packaging materials while collaborating with the global centre of excellence. You will ensure cost‑effective, efficient procurement across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement packaging material category strategies aligned with company goals.
• Collaborate with the global centre of excellence to drive best‑practice adoption.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement of packaging raw materials and origination.
• Evaluate, select and negotiate with suppliers on price, quality, delivery and sustainability.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Monitor material indices and cost models to optimise purchasing decisions.
• Maintain supplier databases, procurement records and track key functional metrics.
• Support internal departments by understanding their packaging needs and ensuring timely fulfillment.

Required profile

• 3‑year tertiary degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Science, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and financial acumen.
• Experience working with global centres of excellence and managing upstream/downstream purchasing processes.
