Senior Manager Total Rewards

About the role

PayInc is seeking a Senior Manager Total Rewards to lead the design, governance and management of its remuneration, benefits, recognition and reward strategies. This role ensures a compelling employee value proposition, regulatory compliance and supports a high‑performance, values‑led culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year Total Rewards strategy aligned with business objectives, workforce needs and market competitiveness.
• Maintain and evolve remuneration philosophy, governance frameworks, and policies, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation, SARB/NPS expectations, King IV and tax requirements.
• Lead annual Nomination Remuneration Committee submissions, modelling and remuneration reviews.
• Partner with Finance on budgeting, workforce planning and incentive modelling.
• Provide insights for salary benchmarking, market analysis and oversee annual salary and incentive reviews.
• Manage short‑term and long‑term incentive frameworks and executive reward structures.
• Oversee employee benefits programmes, including medical aid, retirement funds, risk benefits and wellness offerings.
• Govern job evaluation, grading and architecture frameworks in partnership with Human Capital Business Partners.

Required profile

• Significant experience in total rewards, compensation and benefits management, preferably within the payments or fintech sector.
• Deep knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA) and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategic reward programmes that attract, motivate and retain talent.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, engaging with C‑level executives, finance, audit and remuneration committees.
• Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, workforce planning and incentive modelling.
