Senior Engineer – Microtunnelling Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with deep expertise in microtunnelling to join our international infrastructure team. The role can be based in the UK or Bahrain and involves early contractor involvement, pre‑construction work, and feasibility studies for complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in planning, design and execution of microtunnelling works.
• Develop construction methodologies, equipment specifications and optimise designs using geotechnical data.
• Lead projects from concept through delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and consultants.
• Produce clear technical reports, feasibility studies and project documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Apply knowledge of segmental tunnelling and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) to improve project outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a safety‑focused, quality‑driven environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering microtunnelling projects successfully.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong report‑writing abilities.
• Solid understanding of trenchless technologies, geotechnical principles and microtunnelling equipment.
