Small Tools Supervisor

About the role

The Small Tools Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inventory, maintenance and movement of small tools and plant equipment across multiple project sites. You will ensure that all tools are properly documented, repaired, and available when needed, while coordinating closely with site managers and the procurement team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise small‑tool and plant staff, ensuring correct handling and documentation.
• Liaise with site teams to complete SMFS paperwork and manage tool movements.
• Oversee LTI processes on site to guarantee compliance with tool‑management procedures.
• Submit final costings and figures promptly for finance and operations.
• Conduct weekly meetings with LTI representatives and attend site project meetings.
• Maintain daily action lists and update them with relevant comments.
• Coordinate orders, certifications and repairs to ensure timely delivery.
• Bridge communication gaps between site personnel and head office, enforcing established procedures.
• Work with procurement to forecast stock needs and address shortages.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric qualification.
• Relevant certification in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years supervising small‑tools operations in the electrical infrastructure or a similar industry.
• Ability to perform hard labour as required.
• Residence in the Eastern Cape.
