New Vehicle Sales Manager – Cape Town

About the role

The franchised motor dealership in Milnerton, Cape Town is looking for an experienced New Vehicle Sales Manager to lead a high‑performing sales team. You will be responsible for driving vehicle sales, increasing market share, and maximising profitability while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage the new‑vehicle sales team to exceed monthly and annual targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow vehicle sales and market share.
• Monitor KPIs, budgets, forecasts and departmental profitability.
• Recruit, train, mentor and evaluate sales consultants.
• Oversee quotations, negotiations, deal approvals and vehicle deliveries.
• Collaborate with Finance & Insurance to optimise profitability.
• Manage vehicle inventory and ensure effective stock control.
• Maintain compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer standards and legal requirements.
• Resolve customer queries and drive marketing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate sales records using the Dealership Management System (DMS).

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• 3‑5 years’ experience as a New Vehicle Sales Manager or senior automotive sales manager.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Experience within a franchised motor dealership.
• Strong leadership, coaching and team‑management abilities.
• Good knowledge of dealership operations, sales processes and DMS.
• Financial, reporting, negotiation and customer‑relationship skills.

• Dealership Management System (DMS) proficiency.

What we offer

• Basic salary ranging from R20 000 to R25 000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Performance‑based commission between R50 000 and R100 000+.
