Member of Financial Disciplinary Board (Part‑time)

About the role

The Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality is seeking qualified individuals to serve on its Financial Disciplinary Board on a part‑time basis. Board members will provide independent advice and assist the council in investigating allegations of financial misconduct within the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Accounting Officer and municipal management on investigatory matters related to financial misconduct.
• Respond to the Council on issues raised by the Auditor‑General of South Africa (AGSA) and prepare recommendations.
• Conduct preliminary investigations to determine whether allegations are founded and recommend whether a full investigation is warranted.
• Identify and terminate investigations that are frivolous, vexatious, specious or obviously unfounded.
• Carry out full investigations when allegations are substantiated, gathering evidence and interviewing relevant parties.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations to the Mayor, Council or Accounting Officer.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of performance management matters in local government.
• Extensive knowledge of financial misconduct procedures and criminal proceedings.
• Expertise in criminal investigation, supported by relevant academic qualifications.

• Criminal investigation
