Mechanical Maintenance Operator (Grade 2)

About the role

Sasol is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Operator (Grade 2) to join its Secunda Operations team. You will support the Mechanical Maintenance department by ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and sustainability through hands‑on maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and maintain safety standards in the work environment.
• Perform planned maintenance, plant inspections, and repairs to keep equipment available.
• Participate in daily briefings, root‑cause analysis (RCA) sessions, and toolbox talks.
• Provide timely feedback on work progress to supervisors and customers.
• Maintain good housekeeping, waste‑disposal procedures, and accurate maintenance records.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and support training initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric/N3 qualification with Maths, English and Physical Science.
• CHIETA NQF Level 2 in Mechanical (and Level 4 in Welding if applicable).
• At least 1 year of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Commitment to safety, reliability and teamwork.
