Blending Manager – Production & Quality

About the role

The Blending Manager leads the blending department within Diageo's supply chain and manufacturing network, ensuring that liquid production meets quality, cost, delivery, safety and morale targets. This role oversees both owned and third‑party facilities, driving compliance, sustainability and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily blending operations, ensuring adherence to formulas, production schedules and codex compliance.
• Manage ingredient inventory, optimise material usage and control excise duty costs.
• Ensure all blended liquids meet quality standards; conduct root‑cause analysis for non‑conformances.
• Lead, develop and motivate the blending team, coordinating training and performance reviews.
• Drive process improvement using data analytics tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Coordinate with asset‑care teams to maintain equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Perform sensory evaluation to guarantee product quality in spirits and base liquids.
• Implement water and energy management initiatives to support Diageo’s sustainability programme.

Required profile

• Proven experience in alcohol blending, proofing, filtration (activated charcoal, sand) and liquid maturation.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (FSSC 22000), HACCP principles and excise regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with water treatment plants and water balance management.
• Ability to lead a technical team and manage change in production parameters.
