HR Generalist – Recruitment, IR & Training

About the role

The HR Generalist will support the engineering and security divisions by delivering end‑to‑end human resources services. This role focuses on recruitment, industrial relations, performance management, training, employee engagement and compliance with South African labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: manage full recruitment cycles for technical, security and administrative roles, develop sourcing strategies, conduct interviews, assessments and background checks, and ensure smooth onboarding.
• Industrial Relations & Compliance: advise on BCEA, LRA and EEA compliance, handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution, represent the company in CCMA and union negotiations, and keep HR policies up to date.
• Performance Management & Employee Engagement: coordinate performance reviews, coach managers, assist with career development and succession planning, and drive employee engagement initiatives.
• Training & Development: identify training needs, coordinate learning programs for engineering and security teams, ensure industry‑specific training compliance, and work with SETAs on skills development and grant applications.
• HR Administration & Systems: maintain accurate HR records, contracts and personnel files, oversee payroll inputs, leave management and benefits administration, and use HR systems to track and report key metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field.
• At least 3 years of HR experience, preferably in engineering or security sectors.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and experience with CCMA cases and union negotiations.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and negotiation skills.

• Experience using recruitment tools and platforms.
