Higher Education Lecturer – Hospitality Management & Cookery

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Higher Education Lecturer to join the International Hotel School Westville Campus. You will inspire and guide students pursuing careers in hospitality management, professional cookery, and kitchen management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in hospitality and cookery subjects.
• Design and conduct assessments in line with the curriculum.
• Support students’ academic and personal development, ensuring a high‑quality learning experience.
• Contribute to curriculum review and development of assessment tools.
• Participate in student “at‑risk” interventions and maintain high pass rates.

Required profile

• NQF Level 8 hospitality qualification (Masters preferred).
• Professional Cookery qualification and experience is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant practical industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years of lecturing or teaching experience.
• Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Experience applying diverse teaching methodologies and educational technology.
