About the role
The Commercial Manager will lead BFG Africa’s commercial function for its FRP product portfolio, driving profitable revenue growth, market expansion and commercial excellence across the continent.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the commercial growth strategy aligned with BFG Africa’s expansion ambitions.
- Drive revenue growth for FRP manholes, roofing sheets, water tanks, pipes, stadium seating and rail & transport components.
- Act as the voice of the market, translating customer needs into product development inputs and influencing the R&D pipeline.
- Own relationships with strategic customers (government, SOEs, municipalities, OEMs, private sector) and lead high‑value tenders, RFQs and contract negotiations.
- Develop and manage pricing strategy, margin optimisation and value‑engineered solutions.
- Identify new industries, applications and geographic opportunities for FRP products and lead commercialisation of new offerings.
- Build and maintain a robust commercial pipeline, guiding Business Development teams on target markets and conversion strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Technical & Engineering, Operations and GRC to ensure product delivery, compliance and risk management.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing strategic customer relationships and large‑scale contracts.
- Track record of leading tenders, RFQs and negotiating pricing, warranties and service levels.
- Ability to translate market intelligence into product and pricing strategies.
- Experience in commercial pipeline management and revenue growth initiatives.
