Finance Manager – Foreign Exchange (CA(SA)) – Western Cape

About the role

This position offers a qualified CA(SA) the chance to lead foreign exchange and treasury activities for a fast‑growing organisation in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will be responsible for managing currency exposure, supporting strategic purchasing and delivering financial insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage foreign currency exposure across the business.
• Execute forward exchange contracts and settle foreign exchange transactions and letters of credit.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc FX exposure reports and support hedge accounting.
• Analyse the impact of exchange‑rate movements on profitability and cash flow, and provide scenario modelling.
• Produce monthly management reports, perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and support month‑end, year‑end and audit processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to treasury, risk‑management and financial control processes.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams, communicating currency impacts and presenting recommendations to management.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA) with approximately two years post‑articles experience.
• Experience in foreign exchange, treasury, hedge accounting or financial risk management.
• Background in financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Exposure to commercial, retail, manufacturing, import/export or multinational environments.

Required skills

• Understanding of foreign exchange markets and treasury operations.
• Knowledge of hedge accounting principles.
• Ability to prepare financial models and scenario analyses.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
