About the role
We are seeking a dedicated driver to transport explosives and related materials between our manufacturing sites, ISAP, ISCP and other locations. The role ensures safe, compliant movement of hazardous goods while maintaining vehicle and site safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Transport explosives and detonator waste in accordance with regulations and company policies.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete required documentation such as delivery notes and logbooks.
- Maintain licences and certificates, including EC1 licence, professional driving permit, COF, and annual renewals of heavy and light vehicle certificates.
- Follow spillage cleaning procedures and ensure proper loading/unloading of hazardous materials.
- Return used lead azide drums, collect acid/reagents, and transport effluent to designated plants.
- Keep vehicles and work areas clean and safe, and supply trolleys as needed.
- Record all trips in trolley dispatch logbooks for traceability.
Required profile
- Matric or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Valid EC1 licence and professional driving permit.
- At least three years of driving experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of explosives regulations, dangerous goods transportation, and relevant SHEQ legislation.
- Ability to renew and maintain required vehicle certificates and PPE standards.
