About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an energetic Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance department. The CFO will provide strategic financial direction and oversee all financial affairs of the organization. Key duties include strategic planning, risk management, budgeting, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial stability and compliance across the organization. The role also involves establishing robust internal controls and overseeing the organization’s supply chain management policies.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic and financial planning
• Implement and monitor financial and internal control systems
• Financial reporting
• Financial risk management
• Coordinate year‑end statutory external and internal audits
• Coordinate and monitor the company budget
• Payroll management ensuring compliance with tax legislation
• Establish and maintain supply chain management function and policies

Required profile

• Postgraduate qualification in Accounting
• Registration with a recognized relevant professional body
• Minimum of 8 years experience in Public Sector Financial Management
• Experience providing financial direction and managing the financial affairs of an organization
