Accountant – Finance & Accounting Role

About the role

Our client in Stellenbosch is looking for a skilled Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. The role involves managing the general ledger, preparing management accounts, and supporting audits for multiple entities within the group.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and allocate costs and revenues across group companies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports.
• Perform regular reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Implement and monitor financial controls and processes.
• Assist external auditors with documentation and explanations.
• Manage debtor functions, invoicing, collections, and settlements.
• Process daily payments to business partners accurately and on time.
• Handle statutory reporting, SARS returns (income tax, VAT) and support SARS audits.
• Reconcile inter‑company loan balances and provide financial data for board packs.
• Manage refunds, chargebacks and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles or at least 3 years relevant experience.
• Fluent business English; additional languages are a plus.
• Own reliable transport.
